Water treatment plant trip

Hi. My name is William and I am going to tell you about how the water treatment plan cleans water and the steps to make water potable. You see there are a total of six steps to making it clean and i am going to tell you about each one.

The 1rst is cleaning water is to get the big and small but not microscopic dirt like soda cans or candy or paper for example separated from the water. They do this by first having these bars with a big enough gap in between to take out the big junk in the water. They then scoop up the junk into the garbage can every hour. Water the goes to another filter but this time it takes out the smaller dirt.

The 2nd step is they add chemicals to create flock. The chemicals are limestone, chlorine and one more thing.

The 3rd step is getting the flock to stay on the floor so it does not flow with the water therefore separating the dirt. The reason the flock is on the ground is because more dirt gathers so it becomes heavier.

The 4th step is the water that passed the first three steps go into a sand filter one meter deep. This is used to catch the really small dirt. They also use a special type of sand where most of the grains of sand has the same size.

The 5th step is they add chemical disinfects like chlorine to get rid of all those microscopic dirt particles. They do this so it becomes drinkable.

The final step is they make sure it is clean so they test it out by doing some stuff.

Those are the six steps to make water potable. But there are different ways to make water clean.
